The Barrington School Committee voted unanimously (5-0) to approve Stage II of Barrington’s Necessity of School Construction application to the Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) on February 1, 2024.
The Committee’s approval of this application is another step forward in preparing Stage II for submission to RIDE by February 15, 2024. Following the School Committee vote, the Barrington Town Council will vote to approve the Stage II application on February 7.
Pending RIDE’s approval of Stage II, and with support from its architectural services firm and Owner’s Project Manager (OPM), the Barrington School Building Committee will begin work on Stage III of its Necessity of School Construction application in June 2024.
